Audience:
Teenagers
and adults
Duration:
2 blocks of 75 minutes
or custom duration
By building and manipulating Bunraku-style paper puppets in teams, participants learn to develop their listening, collaboration and dialogue skills.
First, the artist guides participants on how to create and build a character. To do so, you will only need your imagination and some paper, tape and marker.
The workshop’s teamwork requirements, adjusted to suit participants’ ages, are designed to explore the benefits of cooperating in a playful way, then reaping the rewards of non-judgmental collaboration.
The second part of the workshop offers exercises that stimulate listening and collaboration. Participants learn the basics of three-person manipulation and then present their puppet to the other teams.
